As an artist, wife, mother, and lifelong learner, my work reflects the intricate dance between the demands of life and the sparks of creativity.
My path was not originally forged in the traditional halls of art schools but in the unexpected corridors of a marketing office within an engineering firm. Here, amid the structure and precision of engineering, I found a sanctuary for my creative spirit. This unique backdrop has instilled in me a profound appreciation for the beauty that emerges from the junction of seemingly unrelated worlds.
My art is characterized by its diversity in mediums—graphite, color pencil, charcoal, pastel, oil, watercolor, acrylic and digital illustration. Each medium offers a unique voice, a different texture and hue to the stories I wish to tell. My work in portrait drawing and painting is particularly close to my heart, serving as a medium to explore the depth of human emotion and connection.
The discovery of my ability to draw was a pivotal moment that redirected my life’s story towards art. This revelation was not just about uncovering a hidden talent but about embracing the process of continuous learning and growth. My late graduation from college at the age of 61, coupled with recognition as an Outstanding Graduate and a feature in Graphic Design USA magazine, underscores my journey as a testament to the idea that it is never too late to pursue one’s passion.
My artistic journey and the work I create are deeply infused with a sense of gratitude and humility. I acknowledge the divine grace that has guided my path. The phrase “Sola Dei Gratia” … by the grace of God alone, encapsulates my philosophy—acknowledging the grace that fuels my creativity and drives my passion. This philosophy is woven into each piece, reflecting a blend of personal narrative, artistic exploration, and a celebration of the human spirit.
